New cooperation partner in Turkey.
Istanbul, Mühltal. At the end of January 2024, the medical division of the Turkish Koç Holding A.Ş. signed a memorandum of understanding on future cooperation in the field of medical technology with Wirthwein Medical GmbH & Co. KG, a subsidiary of Wirthwein SE, which also includes Farel Plastik A.Ş.in Çerkezköy, Turkey. "We are very much looking forward to the cooperation with our new Turkish partner," emphasizes Marcus Wirthwein.
"With this Memorandum of Understanding between the medical divisions of Koç Holding and Wirthwein SE, we aim to establish a cooperation in the medical technology market. The cooperation is to be initiated for WIM Ject® syringe systems in Turkey and the Middle East," explains Thomas Kraus, Chief Sales Officer. WIM Ject® is a high-quality, sterile and prefillable syringe system made from the high-performance glass replacement plastic cyclo-olefin copolymer (COC). The complete system, consisting of syringe, optionally with backstop and plunger rod, is delivered to customers sterile and ready for filling in tub-nest packaging. The willingness of both companies to intensify cooperation in the production of medical components and systems was also set out in this MoU.

Farel Plastik A.Ş.
On January 1, 2015, Wirthwein acquired a majority stake of 70 percent in Farel Plastik A.Ş., which was founded in 1999 and now employs around 400 people. The company manufactures injection-molded components for the Home Appliance and Mobility divisions using state-of-the-art production processes and is now fully incorporated in the Wirthwein Group.
