Wirthwein in Crimmitschau

Founded in 2012 under the roof of the Wirthwein-Group, Wirthwein Crimmitschau GmbH & Co. KG is part of a globally active group of companies with 22 international locations. Despite its company size (some 3,650 employees) Wirthwein has remained a family-run company that is active in the automotive, railway, electrical, household, medical technology and interior design industries.

The plant in Crimmitschau, Saxony, has specialized on injection molding of plastic components for the automotive industry, more precisely on the production of radiator shrouds and fans which are built into numerous car series for air feed, temperature control and engine cooling. The company’s machinery includes 26 injection molding machines and diverse fully and semi-automatic assembly systems. Moreover, the company produces air filters for cars and commercial vehicles, such as trucks, buses or tractors. For example, fuel cell filters made in Crimmitschau are built in the world’s first hydrogen fuel cell train “Coradia iLint“.

135 employees at the plant are responsible for all process steps of a modern industrial company, from inventory management, maintenance and handling of complex injection molds, modern plastic injection molding processes to create premium quality products to sophisticated logistics flows.

“It is crucial that the whole team collaborates professionally and respectfully as we work for the future now“, says plant manager Dr. Maike Gruschwitz while personnel officer Daniela Letschewa points out: “We gladly invite interested applicants to do an internship with us to get an insight“. Needless to say that the company with a training quota of some 10 percent has been participating in the vocational training fair “Bildung & Beruf“ (Education & Career) for many years, which is going to take place in the municipal hall of Zwickau on 1st and 2nd of February 2020.

In order to increase its brand awareness and for industry-specific networking, Wirthwein Crimmitschau is also going to participate in the “Kooperationsbörse der Zulieferindustrie im Erzgebirge” (Cooperation Forum of the Supplier Industry of Erzgebirge), which is a local trade fair of the automotive industry, on the 16th of October 2019 in Stollberg for the first time.
